Unless you have a billionaire like Bill Gates in your
“Hip National Bank” pocket, you might want to pay
attention to this one concept…

It affects everyone.

Everyone from MLMers to Carpet Cleaners to Corporate Salesmen.

Here’s the scenario…

You purchase, generate or somehow otherwise acquire
a list of potential prospects.

You pay $100 for 20 leads.

These leads are imported into your online or OFFline
marketing system.

Maybe you have a FREE report to offer that teaches
them the 7 things to avoid in your line of business.

Or maybe you have a cool direct mail piece ( postcard )
to send out to them that helps filter out the serious from
the NON-serious.

Out of the 20 leads, 2 raise their hand and are ready to buy.

The remaining 18 are still there, sitting on the fence.

Can you take a wild guess as to what 99.5% of the
Marketers will do with those remaining 18 “fence sitters”?

Yep…

All too often, many Marketers squander perfectly good
leads by doing little or no follow-up and / or giving up on
them way, way too early or easily.

For example…

I attended a Home & Garden Show in Cleveland back
in the early part of Spring ‘06.

There were multiple vendors with whom I shared my
full contact information.

Guess how many has followed up with me?

Not a single ONE!

No emails. No phone calls. No postcards. No letters.

Was I a prospect that was ready to buy at the time
I was there?

No.

Am I prospect today that’s ready to buy?

Yes.

Had someone ( anyone ) initiated / maintained a relationship
with me from that show, chances are very good I would have bought from them.

How about those of you in MLM?

Are you databasing ALL of your leads?

Are you using email, voice broadcast, postcards, etc… to
stay in front of them today, next month, next year?

I know one guy who is.

He’s an Amish fellow working Xango.

I’ve bought several bottles of the Xango Juice from him.

The other day, he sent a very nice direct mail piece,
inviting me to attend a Xango event not far from where
I live.

Will I go?

Not likely.

Was it smart of this Amish guy to send me that letter?

Absolutely.

I have to assume that he sent that letter to ALL of his
past and present Xango customers. Which is a very good
thing to do. If they like the juice, then chances are real
good they’ll take a serious look at the business.

And there’s no one better to get into the business than a
satisfied customer of the product.

They’re their own walking testimonial.

Ok…

So hopefully you get the idea here.

Follow-up with your leads.

Persistently and relentlessly.

That includes the ones who are not interested “Right Now”.

You never know who will be interested an hour, day or
week later.

It only makes good financial sense to do so.

Take Care, Tim
