A message from Amy………….

I’m posting a portion of an email exchange that I had with a
young lady last night. She’s been on my email list for quite
some time. But has yet to stand up and do anything online…
Her email below clearly states WHY.
Underneath her email, I posted my reply as well as a few
additional comments.

Hey Tim,
Well, I have been on your blog and read all of the information
and I must admit I am still really curious and I am fighting the urge.
What does this cash delivery system cost to get in or start and what
do I have to do to maintain. You know from talking to me all this time
that I have a lot on my plate with my girls, work, husband, ageing
parents, etc. Tell me as exactly as you can what I would need to
be doing, and how it all starts. If I can get comfortable and feel like
I can afford the price to start I will probably do it. I cannot believe
that this would be another one of those scams since I have spoken
with you over the phone and you seem like an honest person. Just
let me know.
Thanks a bunch!
Amy
Here’s one of my REPLIES to Amy:
=====================================
Amy:
You said a key phrase… “if I can get comfortable”.
Your words below tell me that you’re uncertain, a little
fearful even. Afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.
Perhaps afraid to spend any money, in the fear that you’ll
lose it.
You’re already on the wrong path before you even start.
You need to forge ahead with positive expectations, not
negative ones. You need to be able to risk a little without
the thought or worry of losing it. And you need to be able
to step outside of your comfort zone to learn a few things.
If you’re unwilling to do any one of those 3 things, you’re
doomed from Day 1.
Think it over. Then let me know.
Tim

OK…
I think she asked a great question. It’s one that is wandering
around in tens of thousands of peoples minds at this very minute.
Uncertainty, fear, hesitation… all are very powerful motivators that
stop people cold in their tracks. Most of the time, before they even
begin. A person needs to feel comfortable with the entire process,
from start to finish.
Lets dissect the 3 areas that I focused on in my reply:
First… was the positive v/s negative expectations. This is extremely
crucial. If you go into anything with the slightest expectancy that
something bad will happen ( for example… I cannot believe that this
would be another one of those scams ), guess what usually happens?
The very same negative thoughts we were thinking appear. And then
we say to ourselves… “I knew that was going to happen”. Is it a real
SHOCKER when it does?
Second… was the money issue. It goes far beyond investing in
yourself. It’s about being able to let go of what you have despite
the fear/chance that you will lose it.
There are no guarantees in the Financial Bank of Life. You must
be willing to forge ahead regardless of the potential obstacles. One
general rule of thumb that I’ve always applied to my own dealings is
never spend more than you can afford to lose. If you’re gambling with
the rent or mortgage money to join the latest and greatest “You can
make $77,000 in the next 7 days” type of program, too often things
don’t turn out as we would like. You could find yourself in a “pressure
cooker” situation very quickly.
So only play with money that you can afford to lose… if necessary.
Third… was the willingness to learn a few things.
Using autoresponders, blogs, domain names, etc… can be intimidating
for someone who is brand new. It’s like learning Japanese or Russian
for the first time. But the good news is that all of the basic tools for
marketing online are SOOOO user friendly!
Anyone can learn how to apply these tools to make their lives easier.
If you can send and receive email, use Notepad or MicrosoftWorks and
do basic navigation around the Internet, you can make money online.
I’ll leave you with this final thought.
One of my mentors told me this…
“Make deals with people… Not computers”.
Behind those monitors are real people.
You’re a real person. You’re motivated by the same things I am.
Human nature hasn’t changed in centuries, It’s not going to change now.
So start making as many of your prospects feel COMFORATBLE with you.
They’ll reward you for the effort by doing business with YOU.
Until next time, Tim
