Good Morning,

Here’s a quick 3 minute lesson on how the rich get
richer, while the working middle class remains stagnant.

About a mile away from my home, there’s a new
mini-mart …aka… convenience store being put in.

One of the things I’ve noticed over the past 2-3
weeks while driving past is that during the day,
there are contractors on site.

Plumbers, electricians, folks installing shelves and counters, etc..

Ok, nothing new there right?

Of course.

But here’s where the observation comes in…

In the evening hours, there are typically (2) very sleek
and very new BMWs parked out front.

Now, I’m not the sharpest tool in the tool shed, but something
tells me that those cars might belong to the owners/investors
who are funding this new business.

Do you think the guys driving those cars are installing dry-wall?

Do you think the guys driving those cars are sweeping the floor?

No, they’re not.

They’re checking the progress of their INVESTMENT.

The reason I know this is because one of the two gents
happens to be a friend of mine, who is a mini Donald Trump,
without the hair.

He typically shows up on site at about 7 – 8 PM, after the
workers have gone home.

He strolls around, glances here and there, takes notes, talks
on the phone for a few, and then jets for the door.

All in the days work for a business owner.

Here’s the lesson…

You want to know how the rich get richer?

1) They usually out work their fellow man

2) They INVEST in businesses

3) They’re always THINKING and coming up with new ideas

4) They LEVERAGE other peoples time, money and efforts.

Bingo!

Hold the ice cream!

I think Tim has just hit the nail on the head.

Yep, the rich use LEVERAGE just like a plumber
will use a pipe wrench to remove a rusty connection.

But instead of using the pipe wrench themselves,
the rich have someone else using it for them.

OMG

Why wasn’t I taught this in high school?

Or in college.

Someone please tell me.

Instead I learned about stuff that I haven’t applied
in my daily life since graduation 18 yrs ago.

Ok, moving forward

Back to LEVERAGE

The rich get richer while the working middle class
remains stagnant.

Why?

Because the rich have THOUGHT and ACTED on a higher level.

They’ve applied time tested principles that were first
introduced back in the stone age.

They’ve just tweaked and re-defined the process to
produce a predictable result, in their favor.

Does all of this mean that the working middle class are stupid?

Not at all.

There are some extremely intelligent folks pushing
a broom around Wal-Mart right now for $8.85 an hr,
simply because they’re unaware of how to unlock
the true potential that’s within them.

You can see them every time.

Walking zombies that are slowly deflating themselves.

All because they’re unaware.

Unaware of themselves and of others around them

I should know

I was once a zombie myself.

Broke, depressed, life-less

In a rut, financially.

In a rut, personally.

In a rut, physically.

Until one day, back in January 2001, I walked out
of Red Lobster, pissed off for allowing myself to
get to be 28 yrs old and being no further ahead
than I was when I worked at Little Caesars Pizza,
ten yrs prior.

That’s being a working class zombie.

Perhaps you can relate.

Lord knows I speak with people daily who can.

So what’s the solution to this?

1st of all…

Wake up to the fact that you’re most likely a zombie.

That you’re living a 1/2 life.

That there’s another person inside of you, that’s aching to be heard.

Sounds funny I know, but it’s true (for most of us anyway).

Next…

If you can, change your environment.

The people and places you surround yourself with daily.

For me, it was walking out of Red Lobster.

That was just a start actually.

But you get the idea.

3rd…

Invest in yourself more so than the business you’re in.

This one is HUGE.

How often do you meet someone who is trying desperately to get paid?

You can hear the LACK in their voice.

They NEED to make money.

But here’s the key…

The reason you’re not getting paid is because you need to get paid.

Wow…

That was a $12,000 tip right there that most likely went over your head.

So read it again…

The reason you’re not getting paid is because you need to get paid.

And 4th…

Begin to THINK about how you can apply the concept of LEVERAGE.

Remember, LEVERAGE is using other peoples time, efforts and money.

In a positive light.

I’m not suggesting taking advantage of anyone here.

But you can productively apply this concept to just about any
scenario you can imagine.

With that being said…

At the very least, hopefully I’ve given you something to ponder
tonight, when your head hits the pillow.

Think about the next 1-3 yrs of your life, as they can be the
foundation or the pitfall for the rest of your days.

Use your time wisely.

Just like the rich do.
